CARMEN ROSÉ

Carmen holds all the beauty, wisdom, authenticity, resistance and kind character of a mature vine, like all great women. It is a tribute to the previous generations of winemakers who looked after their vineyards as if they were treasures so that we can continue enjoying their wines today. In the past, the vineyards of the Ribera del Duero were a balance of white and red varieties harvested together, giving rise to the characteristic local wine: a delicious clarete.

Carmen is the desire to rescue this wonderful tradition and recover the history of our region and the interest in making our wines using the Albillo variety, the white grape of the Ribera del Duero region..

Origin of the grape

Hontoria de Valdearados - Viñas Comenge

Hontoria de Valdearados

The wine is made from the grapes of a beautiful age-old vineyard of just one hectare in Hontoria de Valdearados, surrounded by oaks, holm oaks and other old vineyards. Its white (Albillo) and reds (Tempranillo, Garnacha and Valenciana) form a wonderful mosaic of colours, flavours and textures.

Tasting notes

Pale pink in the glass with steel-coloured highlights, brilliant.

Intense nose that reveals an array of ripe black fruit, wild blackberries, violets, white flowers, lavender and a mineral sensation reminiscent of talcum powder.

The palate has excellent acidity and is pleasantly fresh and perfumed, with a light body and a pleasant smooth sensation, showing exquisite ripe fruit and a delicate texture in the mouth. It is reminiscent of a walk through the vineyards where this exclusive, scarce rosé wine is born.

Accompaniment: light rice dishes, pasta with white sauces, sushi, cooked seafood, carpaccio and smoked meats, mild cheeses and chocolate desserts. Serving temperature: 11-14ºC
